“Design and implementation of solar power plants in communities: practical solutions and advice.” Start of workshops
On May 7, energy managers of communities in Kyiv and Cherkasy regions participated in the first workshop of the All-Ukrainian public-state initiative “Solar Guard of Communities” on the topic: “Design and implementation of solar power plants in communities: practical solutions and advice.”
The event lasted two hours and was attended by about 40 representatives of the AH. The webinar began with welcoming remarks from the co-organizers of the initiative – Oleksandr Slobozhan, Executive Director of the Association of Ukrainian Cities and Towns, and Zhanna Patsyora, President of the Business for Partnership NGO. Mr. Oleksandr urged those present to be active and ask questions, because the goal of the project is to increase the level of education of communities. And Ms. Zhanna, in turn, emphasized that the development of solar energy is not only an economic benefit, but also a response to climate challenges.
Roman Radchenko, Deputy Head of the Department of Regional Development and Administrative Services of the State Agency for Energy Efficiency, introduced those present to the principles of the state policy on energy efficiency and outlined priorities for 2025, in particular, regarding support for communities in implementing renewable energy projects.
Yulia Usenko, Head of the All-Ukrainian Agency for Investment and Sustainable Development, Head of the Expert Council of the National Project “Energy Efficiency Week 2025”, named existing models for stimulating solar energy projects in communities and the regulatory framework for their implementation.

It was interesting to learn that Chinese equipment manufacturers have access to control solar power plant systems throughout the entire operation cycle.
Oleg Tarasyuk, Member of the Board of JSC “Decarbonization Fund of Ukraine”, listed all available instruments for financing decarbonization projects that will accelerate the process of increasing the level of energy efficiency for communities.
And Olga Yeremenko, Director of TEPLOPROEKT LLC, shared the subtleties and nuances associated with the feasibility study and design of solar power plants specifically for communities and named their practical aspects.
